Dr. Gary Lyon was born and raised in Southern California. He attended UCLA for his undergraduate studies and then attended the University of California San Francisco Medical Center for his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. During this time, he was the student in charge of the University of California Mobile Clinic traveling to Central California farming communities where he treated migrant farm laborers and their families.
As a dentist, he served two years of active duty in the U.S. Army Dental Corp at Ft. Lee, Virginia, then returned to UCLA for a two-year postdoctoral program in orthodontics where he graduated at the top of his class.
Dr. Lyon has been providing outstanding orthodontic care in the community for over 20 years. He has successfully treated well over 10,000 patients with a broad range in degrees of difficulty. He is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists and the Orange County Dental Society.
He and his family enjoy boating, surfing and snowboarding. The newest addition to the family is Dr. Lyon’s rescue cat, Missy Maincoon Lyon.
